Southern Copper Corp. acquires mining concessions for the Montonero Project
.SHAREBSVV successfully advised Southern Copper Corp. in the acquisition of mining concessions, owned by SLM La Estaca, through the exercise of a unilateral purchase option. The transaction allowed SCC to consolidate the area for the development of the Montonero Project, located in El Salado, Atacama Region. Additionally, the study of the mining concessions was carried out in order to verify the feasibility of the transaction.
Southern Copper Corp. is a mining company founded more than 50 years ago and is currently owned by Mexican mining conglomerate Grupo Mexico. It is one of the 10 largest copper producers in the world, and its main operations are currently concentrated in Mexico and Peru.
