Barros Silva Varela & Vigil has added four new incorporations in different areas of expertise of the office. They are Javier Poblete Lennon, Catalina Correa Aspillaga, Juan Ignacio Águila Farías and Catalina Rivas Guiñez.

All are lawyers from Universidad Católica and have worked in various local law firms.

Poblete holds a Master's degree in Energy and Natural Resources Law from the University of Melbourne, Australia and a diploma in Indigenous Peoples Law, Interculturalism and Legal Anthropology from the University of Chile.

He previously worked as legal advisor to the cabinet of the Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism and was an associate at Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos.
Before joining the firm, Correa worked as an associate at Eluchans Abogados.

Both join the firm's Mining and Natural Resources practice.

Águila, who joins the firm's Real Estate practice, was an associate at Barros Silva Varela & Vigil until last March, and Rivas, who joins the Litigation and Arbitration team, was previously an associate at Boza & Muirhead Abogados.

These additions are in addition to others experienced by the firm in recent times as part of an expansion process.

In March of this year, José Manuel Bustamante joined the firm as a partner, who came to lead the Antitrust area and to strengthen the firm's Litigation and Arbitration team.

Currently, the firm has nine partners and 42 associates.
