Barros Silva Varela & Vigil strengthens Compliance area with multi-specialty team
.SHAREThe proliferation of compliance legislation has gone hand in hand with the growing interest of economic actors, the public sector and academia in best practices, ethical behaviour and sustainable development in public and private activities of all kinds.
Chile has been joining the trend of developed countries that impose high standards in terms of regulatory compliance and best practice procedures. Today, companies and institutions of all kinds must assume with the highest degree of diligence the commitment to direct their efforts towards the creation of an effective culture of compliance among their workers, administrators, shareholders and other collaborators and stakeholders.
Barros Silva Varela & Vigil Abogados has decided to join this commitment, enhancing its compliance services with a Compliance area composed of three partners of the firm, who lead the work of a team of lawyers specialised in different areas.
The aim is to work together with our clients to develop a tailor-made suit that addresses the difficulties and challenges of each company as a unique business entity.
"Globalisation, hyperconnectivity and the complexity of business processes make compliance a practice that should cut across the legal advice we provide to our clients in all areas of law. Probity, transparency and business ethics are inalienable values that must be part of the cultural heritage of any organisation, which requires a firm commitment to the adaptation of changes and constant improvements in terms of regulatory compliance and processes oriented towards best practices," says Roberto Lewin, partner in charge of the area.
This area of Barros Silva Varela & Vigil is led by Roberto Lewin, partner and labour expert of the firm. He is joined by partners Jorge Vigil, an expert in corporate governance, and Claudia Ferreiro, an expert in public law, as well as a team of five associates in the areas of tax, regulatory, crime prevention, consumer law, compliance and labour law.
