BSVV advises refinancing of the Carilafquén-Malalcahuello project and the obtaining of additional financing for USD 25 million

This new capital increase is in addition to a long-term loan for the construction, operation and maintenance of a 29 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plant - and its transmission line - located in southern Chile, in addition to the financing of the value added tax associated with the project.

In this operation, Barros, Silva, Varela & Vigil advised Latin America Power and its subsidiaries Eléctrica Carén S.A. and Valle Allipén Transmitter S.A. Barros & Errázuriz Abogados, and Allen & Overy LLP (New York and Amsterdam) advised Itaú Corpbanca.

Latin America Power obtained, through its subsidiary Empresa Eléctrica Carén S.A., financing of USD 25 million from Itaú Corpbanca, which complements a USD 100 million financing drawn through the same entity in February 2015. In this way, both amount to a total of USD 125 million drawn under the modality of project finance.
