The director of the Tax area of Barros Silva Varela & Vigil, Pilar González, was appointed as Young Arbitrator (AJ) of the Mediation and Arbitration Chamber of Santiago. In this way, Pilar will review the resolution of first instance arbitration cases, of national character and with amounts of less than 5,000 UF.

The claims of the cases submitted to arbitration are diverse and range from rescission of contracts of promise of sale to the resolution of conflicts in confidentiality agreements, demonstrating the versatility and competence of this group of professionals.

Due to the good results of the abbreviated procedure promoted by the AJ CAM Santiago, this procedure was incorporated into the National Arbitration Procedural Rules of the CAM Santiago of 2021, formalizing its use as a tool available to the parties to resolve conflicts in a more expeditious and flexible manner and with lower costs.
